Hello Parents and Welcome to a new school year at DFC. It is my joy to have your student in Foundations and Intermediate Algebra. I have been a certified math teacher for 20 years and have degrees in Math, Secondary Teaching, and Divinity. I enjoy coaching students in SAT/ACT test prep and I dabble in cryptocurrency.

 

This year-long Algebra 1 course has a state administered EOC (end of course) exam in the Spring (tentatively set for May 16, 2024). I will be accessible throughout the year by phone and email.

 

My course schedule this year:

1st Block 8:10-9:40am Foundations Algebra CP

2nd Block 9:48-11:18am Planning Period

3rd Block 11:26am-1:20pm Foundations Algebra CP (this includes 3rd Lunch 12:27-12:52pm)

CAVS Advisory 1:28-1:47pm

 

Foundations Algebra will be a continuation of students' number sense, problem solving, and abstract thinking involving single- and multi-variate equations and inequalities. This is a true foundation for all mathematical reasoning/rational thinking. This will build toward preparation for the EOC and progressing into Geometry and Algebra 2 at the big high school.
